The Weekly Rundown – NFT Sales September 11-17 2021

The big event that the BAYC community has been waiting for is here, an auction at Christie’s, and the markets have been anticipating this for a while. So is the same thing that happened after the Beeple auction is going to happen again? A local NFT market top or “the NFT market top”?

Well, no one knows; all we can do now is look at sales data and place our best bets.

Big Sales of the Week

CryptoPunk #8857for $6.64M
Autoglyphs #336 for $1.34M
CryptoPunk #5827 for $1.22M
The Eternal Pump #6 for $1.19M

What Collectible Market Data is Telling Us

This is our segment where we evaluate the 4 latest best-selling collectibles every 7 days, according to OpenSea rankings (we pick the first 4 with less than 7 days of data).

Sneaky Vampire Syndicate made $26M in sales.

888 Inner Circle made $24M in sales.

The CryptoDads made $17M in sales.

Galaxy-Eggs made $9M in sales.

What CryptoArt is Telling Us

Crypto Art Sales Sept 17

Let’s quickly break it down for perspective:

  • July sold $20.9M
  • August sold $88.81M
  • September so far $42.2M

At our current rate, it looks like this month’s CryptoArt sales are going to be lower than the August sales. However, plugging this data, it seems that we are maybe close to a local top in the CryptoArt sector and NFTs in general.

An exciting collectible is 888 Inner Circle, as there are rumors that you will be receiving a couple of CryptoArt airdrops from great artists in the future.

Summary

Looking at all of this data and NFT sales, I can see an exciting future in the NFT space. If CryptoArt and collectibles are doing great, I think there is a future where we will start to pay more attention to NFTs that generate cashflows like play-to-earn assets or lending and renting NFTs.
